In recognition of Black History Month, the Daly PTA is pleased to sponsor two Cultural Arts Assemblies at the school during the month of February. We are confident that this would be a fun and educational event for our kids!

Performer: Diane Macklin
Master storyteller, Diane Macklin, engages listeners of all ages with her interactive telling style. Her background in education fosters a structure that enables the audience to join in the telling and simply have fun.
Performance Summary: “Succotash Tales”
"Succotash Tales” honors the richness of African American stories, traditions, and folklore. This program highlights how Americans with African roots have influenced American culture, history, and society.
Performer Short Bio
Ms. Macklin is the resident storyteller at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art in Washington, D.C. She has also performed for the Colonial Williamsburg Storytelling Festival, the Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History & Culture, and Wolf Trap’s Theatre-in-the-Woods. She is a teaching artist with numerous organizations including Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning and the Kennedy Center’s DC Partnership Schools Program.
